As a wholesale service provider, Nextep distributes its services through an extensive network of channel partners that includes leading Tier-2 carriers, ISP's and System Integrators. Our range of industry-leading solutions allows such partners to package Nextep offerings with their own solutions, to provide cutting edge telecoms-based services. Our origins can be traced back to 1999, when global technology giant NEC established a broadband applications unit that used NEC's advanced telecommunications solutions. They called this arm 'Nextep'.

Nextep via NEC owns and operates its own broadband network, and leverages on the R&D and innovations emerging from NEC's telecommunications centre in Melbourne, in addition to the knowledge capabilities of NEC's global thought leadership. This has positioned Nextep at the forefront of world's best practice broadband applications such as SIP and IMS, and enabled them to implement them quickly in a highly competitive environment.
