NEC Deploys One of Japan’s Largest Unified Communications Solution Encompassing 3,000 Employees

Tokyo, October 08 - NEC Personal Products today announced that it is implementing an integrated Unified Communications (UC) solution with Microsoft and NEC Corporation for approximately 3,000 employees ranging from development and sales personnel to corporate staff. The new system is among Japan’s largest UC deployment linking NEC’s UNIVERGE SV7000 IP telephony communications server with Microsoft(R) Office Communications Server 2007 (OCS). The companywide deployment began earlier this month.

NEC Participates in Broadband World Forum Europe 2008

NEC to Establish Technical Excellence Centre for Broadband & Wireless Networks in Italy

Tokyo, September 12, 2008 - NEC Corporation announced today that it has agreed with Telecom Italia to cooperate on mutual development of global business, technologies and network improvement. The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) reached between the two companies includes details on how the partnership may enable the Telecom Italia Group to capitalize on NEC’s leading broadband & wireless network technologies to provide consumers with the latest advanced services.

NEC develops the world’s first contactless multi-modal finger recognition technology

Tokyo, May 14, 2008 - NEC has developed a first-ofits- kind contactless authentication technology that quickly reads (scans) two forms of biometric information, fingerprints and vein patterns, to determine a person’s identification. The new device enables businesses to commercialize and manage such activities as the physical access of an area (rooms, buildings etc.), the use of kiosk terminals, embedded business equipment and more.
